RMI Success Stories
Stone Hedge Golf Club
George Brown knows it takes a little green and a lot of drive to manage a successful golf club.
That’s why Stone Hedge Golf Club, his nine-hole “links-style,” semi-private course, features a clubhouse, swimming pool, restaurant and bar. “We try to cater to our members by giving them an experience they can’t get anywhere else in town,” says Brown.
A Marshall, Mo., native, Brown had years of public golf course management experience prior to purchasing Stone Hedge. He chose to use Community Bank in Marshall to acquire the business.
Bank President Dave Cramer and Vice President Stan Hinnah quickly realized that Brown would benefit from the fixed-rate, long-term financing offered by a 504 Loan.
“Doing a fixed-rate 504 Loan with RMI was the best way to go,” states Brown. “The banks weren’t willing to finance the whole project, but RMI picked up the rest. RMI has made the whole process very easy and comfortable.”
The previous owner of the course wanted to keep it locally owned, and Brown was able to do so and keep every employee on staff. Brown suspects he could not have done it without the help of RMI or the stability of a low fixed interest rate.
The continued success of Stone Hedge ensures a high-end meeting place for business people and industry leaders who contribute to economic growth in the area.
