RMI Success Stories
Brett Jacobson knows it takes a solid business plan and a reliable financial partner to get a good idea off the ground.
Jacobson is the owner of R&R Aerospace, a Wichita, Kansas-based supplier of structural machined components to the aerospace manufacturing industry. Customers use R&R Aerospace products to build the structural body of airplanes.” Customers give us their design, and our task is to figure out the most cost-effective and quickest way to manufacture it to meet their needs,” says Jacobson.
Jacobson brings 18 years of aerospace industry experience to his new venture, in addition to five years he spent successfully turning around a glass fabrication company, and managing a large recreational vehicle manufacturing plant.
When he learned that R&R’s previous owner was retiring, Jacobson recognized the business’ potential and moved quickly to acquire it. He was assisted by Morgan Wiebe of Commerce Bank, who introduced him to RMI and the advantages of the 504 Loan Program.
“Working with RMI made the SBA Loan process seamless,” adds Jacobson. “The 504 Loan allowed me to lower the cost of capital and to invest in other things that helped grow my business.”
Today, R&R Aerospace is actively hiring machinists and other support positions in anticipation of doubling the size of the business within the next five years. “We have good employees focused on exceeding customer expectations,” says Jacobson. “That’s the basis of our success.”
